Why Nurse?

Everyone is asking all the among the courses, why did I choose Nursing course and Nursing course is just for Female in Malaysia but why?

1. Nursing is my passion do meet people and care for people that they are in needs.
2. Nursing gives me the ideal or thought of dirty Job, yet I 'm willing. Just like Jesus washes his Disciples feet ( John 3: 1-17) . In my thought if Jesus able, why not us?
3. I believe that without God's guide and his love. I dont think I will be able to take care for my patient and share to my patient about God's Love. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23
4. I got influence by my aunt. Because she has showed a great example for me and do want me to persue it.

John 13- Jesus Washes His Disciples’ Feet
¹ It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. ² The evening meal was in progress, and the devil had already prompted Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, to betray Jesus. ³ Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; ⁴ so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. ⁵ After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

⁷ Jesus replied, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
⁸ “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my feet.”
   Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have no part with me.”
⁹ “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
¹⁰ Jesus answered, “Those who have had a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are clean, though not every one of you.” ¹¹ For he knew who was going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
¹² When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. ¹³ “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. ¹⁴ Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. ¹⁵ I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. ¹⁶ Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. ¹⁷ Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.

Driving to Nursing Life
   "Kam Sia Chu" ( Praise the Lord)! Finally I have Reached to final year. God's is faithfully to me. I wanted to thanks couple of people especially my parents, my aunt and Benjamin Teoh. They are such a blessing to me and when I was freak out of my days they always bring God's word in my mind and make my day Awesome.

      May I encourage people that, dont let human blood scared you away from study nursing or either medical line.

Yesterday night I watched the movie entitle Letters to God. I did not realize that till the end part. Tyler is a person that fighting for cancer. Which simply means that no matter what he trying his very best to show love and share Christ. I pray that God I will be like Tyler. I just want to God use me what he want me to do. No matter what I believe this in my heart that invite that holy spirit inside our heart. Im sure that holy spirit will work through us and guide us. Instead anxious become brave. I'm thinking what should I do after my study in Nursing. Im thinking work for three years in KL and Singapore without telling friend when to leave just leave in PEACE accept friend is close and friend that I wanted to share. hehehe.... Thinking after that doing my English paper test and then faster enter to the new world for experience and explode myself there and make myself comfortable and to full fill my life instead of make myself suffer. So i will continue to have this dream then continue study my Medicine if the willing of God . May my dream shall come through as i began my plan. Everything is not late as i believe.

5.00am- Awake and prepared myself for new beginning of my practical work in Seberang Jaya
Hospital. Had a wonderful breakfast with cereal.

5.30pm- Began my Journey from my house to college for transport to Seberang Jaya Hospital.

6.45am- All my course mate reached in Ward 8-Surgical and Orthopedic ward.

7.00am- All of us begin our chores for the day such as Vital signs(TPR, BP and SPO2),
Sponging the patients,clear the bed,clean the patient wound,serve medication and
last but not least Doctor/hoursemen and housewives rounds.

10am - We had done almost our chores and we begin our own interview and physical
assessment. These help us to collect the patient data and perform some own case
study. At the same time I sent my patient for plastic bandage.

12noon- One of the staff nurses requested me to sent the patient for Echocardiogram.
Mean while I heard learn something new about the heart and the real location of
heart that taught by Medical Assistance.

1.00pm- Prepared and go back

3.00pm- Home sweet home

4.30am - wake up from my bed with steam face , bone and joint fell pain. When for 15 minutes bath and apply aqueous cream on my face to prevent dry skin.

5.00am- started my journey from Air Itam ---> Green Hall

5.30am- Reached College awaiting for uncle to fetch my friend and I to Seberang Jaya

6.15am- Started our journey from SEGi College---> Penang Bridge----> Hospital Seberang Jaya

6.30am - Reached at Hospital seberang Jaya. Approximately 10min waste waited on others course mate to reach the main entrance. They reached at the main entrance around 7.15am. While we waited for them my friend and I went for early breakfast in hospital cafeteria.

7.15am- All of use are waiting for the Manager in the ward to brief us and orientate us from A to Z..... Wow, tell you guys it was awesome and especially the FORENSIC room was such cool that I had never been seen before with my own eyes.

8.00am- SEGi College and Bukit Merah College combine together for orientation

9.00am- We nearly took 1 hour and half for orientation. The Manager in the Ward wanted us to go Surgical and otopedik ward. Anyway it is fun. because get to see sorts of wound and fracture bones in the ward..

that is the end on how we spend in SEBERANG JAYA HOSPITAL...... COME STUDY NURSING.....

Times really flies and years 2009 had already pass for few days.

1st of Jan 2010
Before when down to kl i went to josh cousin sis britday party.After that about approximately 3pm ,Bro.MC Lee,Josh uncle,Josh,Joseph and myself. We reached kl about 6.30pm. Firstly,we went to Mid-valley. First place we went is bowling. The bowling center was awsome and romatic, because the serrounding was dark like enter to pub again.After bowling we went to guitar shop to look out various types of guitar and i brought guitar pick there too. After mid-vally we went for dinner . After dinner we went back to Josh grandma house stay and during the mid-night we woke up and out of sudden we felt hungry so approximately 3am Joseph,Josh and Myself walked to the near by 24 hours mamak stall to get our supper. as we walked to the nearest mamak stall we got a shocked and wonder why police came to the area and at the same time i wear like samseng like that.So,Joseph said :"Gabriel Police is going to catach you." Josh and myself replied :"got brain ah." after we passed via the police car we only know that the police is amied to catch those that is racing motorcycle on the road.After ate we went back to sg.long. For a few min later Jo slept like a little boy yet josh and myself was alert in the house so we decided to look out for some movies and watched. We watched naruto, crazy movies and animation movie. we watched from 4am to 7am. Then we went to sleep about an hour.

I still remember when we are in primary year and secondary i enjoy to talk with you because in primary and secondary we used english to speak. However,we get together for prayer. once again we really miss you Gabriel Seow. You have faught the good fight. But i believe you are deserve the better place that Jesus have prepared for you.

I am so happy when school reopen because it is new day what God has install for us and I get to enter semester 2. Surprisingly, all the subjects that we going to take is totally different, we thought we are going to take psychology, medico-legal and etc.

Here are new subjects we are going to take Anatomy and physiology part two, medical pharmacology Burn and Scald, Supply oxygenation and etc.

Moreover,we are happy to come back to school. but the bad news is some of our friend are going to different hospital. But we guys are happy too because we all are going to General Hospital for practical. And Gods really hears my pray we have to go to practical on every Mon to Fri only. Without Prays I totally no time for God.

But I believe God has a plan for me!

Why did I choose That course and not that Course?

Hi,friends. This is the story of why I took nursing course and why not other course. In the Bible of Jeremiah " For I know the plans I have for you said the Lord."They are plans for good and not disaste,to give you a future and a hope. My friends it is important for you to confess positive. Never confess negative thoughts. Because in Christ we can do all things through christ who strengthen me.

This is my story line, When I'm about results to come my heart would think about S.A.M in Disted College and business administration in Unity . So, I began to tell God is it the right choice to choose? but there is no answer and there is no reply from God.since that, I told myself why should i continue to pray. So, I began to stop pray. However,when im in youth service the words began to review to me it said trust in the Lord with all your heart;do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do and he will direct your paths. At first i refuse it, but the second time this words still review to me and said the same things. So, when i reach home i bend my knee and continue to pray but there is no answer .So again i began to stop the process again.

Then,when i start to clean up my room and suddenly saw a book it called " The Fourth Dimension" by Pas David. So, I began to reed the few chapter. The Lord really spoke to my heart and it told me when I pray , I didnt not really focus in him and put all my trust in him. Moreover, he said in the book what I pray does not list out specific. God told me that there is So many college and course. God told me that I kept ask me to bless me my education but i didnt mention it. So, I countinue to pray about S.A.M and Business. But there is no PEACE. But i dint border it no PEACE I have to go through. From there when my parents call me and said he want to fetch me from my secondary school because I have to settle my Certificate for my college . So, I say ok . At the results he took me to TAR College. Which I dont Want . So, This happen to me. I quarrel and ague that i dont want to TAR college. Then, Hours pass by, my dad called up to my aunty and ask her whether can I stay there.

This is the results, so my aunty ask what happen and why dont want to study business in TAR. But there is no answer.Then, My aunty and my cousin sister asked me why do you want to become business so i told them A-Z. So at the conclusions, they advice why dont i take nursing course. So, I began to get interested from there.

In conclusion, this course is not chosen by me and is a calling to ask me to do it. So, Obey it.
This is my opinion, when GOD SAYS NO IT MEANS NO. Dont ever try it, if not your life will be suffer. AND NEVER BLAM GOD.YOU HAVE TO BLAME YOURSELF BECAUSE GOD HAVE GIVEN YOU THE WARNING!

You have been wondering how many extra calories I should consume to build muscle mass. One program on Fit TV suggested that you should take in between 700 and 1,000 extra calories; another said you should take in only an extra 250 calories. How many extra calories do you need to gain muscle mass?

This is an interesting question to which there is no simple answer. In order to help you better, I consulted with Dr. Steve Fleck, chair of the Sport Science Department at Colorado College and a member of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. Here are a few suggestions.

First of all, building muscle requires a positive energy balance, which means that you have to take in more calories than you burn. So the question of how many extra calories you should eat to gain muscle mass depends on how many calories you are burning each day. There are mathematical formulas that can help you figure this out based on your age, height, sex, weight and activity level. Click here for one of the most commonly used formulas.

Once you know how many calories you burn each day, the answer to how many additional calories you should eat has not really been established and depends to a great extent on how hard you work in the gym. Your body can build at most about a half-pound of muscle each week, so if you eat too many extra calories trying to build more muscle, you will gain fat, too. I would suggest consuming an extra 250 to 500 calories per day. If you gain fat easily, stay on the lower end of the range, and if you find it very difficult to gain weight in general, aim for the higher end of the range. It will take a bit of trial and error to find the right amount of additional calories to build muscle and stay lean.

It is important to take in adequate amounts of lean protein such as chicken, fish, lean red meat, egg whites, low-fat cottage cheese or a protein supplement. The average person requires about 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of weight each day, but if you are trying to gain muscle, you may want to increase the protein in this ratio to closer to 1.2 grams each day. Professional body builders consume up to 1.5 grams of protein per kilogram of weight each day, but unless you are spending several hours in the gym on a regular basis, this is too much for the average person trying to gain muscle. In addition, research suggests that consuming lean protein 15 to 20 minutes before, during and within one hour of working out may help improve muscle gain. Since you are probably not going to be eating a steak or chicken breast at the gym, a protein drink or supplement may be beneficial immediately before, during or after workouts, but is not necessary.

International Nurses Day (IND) is celebrated around the world every 12 May. This day is celebrated to remember all of the valuable contributions nurses make to society.

Background

The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has celebrated this day since 1965. In 1953 Dorothy Sutherland, an official with the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare, had proposed that then-President Dwight D. Eisenhower proclaim a "Nurses Day," but he did not approve it.

In January 1974, the decision was made to celebrate the day on 12 May as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, who is widely considered the founder of modern nursing. Each year, ICN prepares and distributes the International Nurses' Day Kit. The kit contains educational and public information materials, for use by nurses everywhere.

As Florence Nightingale is no longer seen as a role model in some parts of the world, demands have arisen, for example by the British public sector union UNISON, to transfer this day on another date.21 May, the birthday of Elizabeth Fry (1780-1845), has been suggested. Elizabeth Fry founded the Institution of Nursing Sisters and is also known for her work with prisoners.

As of 1998, 8 May was designated as National Student Nurses Day, to be celebrated annually. And as of 2003, National School Nurse Day is celebrated on the Wednesday within National Nurses Week (6-12 May) each year.

What had I experience in this Christian Fellowship

Kam Sia Chu (PRAISE GOD)! Finally I have finished my race for this activity. I had experience a lot of things from this Christian Fellowship (CF). The reason why I choose to join this society it is because that we as members can share Christ to non-Christian members who join us too. The main objective of CF is to build up a strong foundation and relationship with our God in Heaven. I really believe that this CF will grew every single Saturday and every year. So, I really thank all our ex-committees: Low Chia-Ming (chairman), Edmund Leong (vice-chairman), Sammuel Ong (secretary), and Madam Choo Mei Lan (teacher Advisor) for their help.

I experience the love of God, because I know He first loves us. He will never forsake us. God also will never leave us alone when we’re facing difficulties. When we’re facing any triumph, testing and anxiety, God is always with us. That is we call Him Emmanuel, it simply means God is with us. Amen!

What activities do Christian Fellowship done in year 2007/2008?

Wow!!! We did a lot of events in the Year2007/ 2008. Such as the leader training by SU center, shared by Puan Choo Mei Lan and Pragas (formerly a youth director of EPCC), Prayer meeting every Thursday and Friday morning 7.00 am sharp, beach outing, floor ball conducted by Chia Ming and Sammuel Ong, beach outing to Miami Beach conducted by Vivian Choon and me, farewell party, great relationship with the members, video presentation like the Passion Of Christ, basic education of Praise and Worship and more! lets check it out men!!!!

CF members, we must pray very hard if not enemy will come to kill, steal and destroy our life. We must ask God to protect us so that enemy cannot come into our life so easily. I hope this CF group will continue to grow strong in the Lord. I have a passion for this CF that the next committee members, I would like to encourage you all to pray before you all conduct any events, activities or anything. Ask God to guide you all and I believe this CF will grow and be fire for our God. Amen! I hope to hear from all of you on the growth of CF. However, in a very short amount of time, it has grown in popularity in France . The French are slurping up Pangas like it's their last meal of soup noodles. They are very, very affordable (cheap), are sold in filets with no bones and they have a neutral (bland) flavor and texture; many would compare it to cod and sole, only much cheaper. But as tasty as some people may find it, there's, in fact, something hugely unsavory about it. I hope the information provided here will serve as very important information for you and your future choices. Here's why I think it is better left in the shops (and not on your dinner plates): 1. Pangas are teeming with high levels of poisons and bacteria. ( industrial effluents, arsenic, and toxic and hazardous by-products of the growing industrial sector, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), DDT and its metabolites (DDTs), metal contaminants, chlordane-related compounds (CHLs), hexachlorocyclohexane isomers (HCHs), and hexachlorobenzene (HCB) ). The reasons are that the Mekong River is one of the most polluted rivers on the planet and this is where pangas are farmed and industries along the river dump chemicals and industrial waste directly into it. To Note: a friend lab tests these fish and tells us to avoid eating them due to high amounts of contamination. Regardless of the reports and recommendations against selling them, the supermarkets still sell them to the general public knowing they are contaminated.2. They freeze Pangas in contaminated river water. 3. Pangas are not environmentally sustainable, a most unsustainable food you could possibly eat - 'Buy local' means creating the least amount of environmental harm as possible. This is the very opposite end of the spectrum of sustainable consumerism. Pangas are raised in Vietnam . Pangas are fed food that comes from Peru ( more on that below ), their hormones ( which are injected into the female Pangas ) come from Chin a . ( More about that below ) and finally, they are transported from Vietnam to France . That's not just a giant carbon foot print, that's a carbon continent of a foot print.4. There's nothing natural about Pangas - They're fed dead fish remnants and bones, dried and ground into a flour, from South America , manioc ( cassava ) and residue from soy and grains. This kind of nourishment doesn't even remotely resemble what they eat in nature. But what it does resemble is the method of feeding mad cows ( cows were fed cows, remember? ). What they feed pangas is completely unregulated so there are most likely other dangerous substances and hormones thrown into the mix. The pangas grow at a speed light ( practically! ) : 4 times faster than in nature¡Kso it makes you wonder what exactly is in their food? Your guess is as good as mine. 5. Pangas are Injected with Hormones Derived from Urine - I don't know how someone came up with this one out but they've discovered that if they inject female Pangas with hormones made from the dehydrated urine of pregnant women, the female Pangas grow much quicker and produce eggs faster ( one Panga can lay approximately 500,000 eggs at one time ). Essentially, they're injecting fish with hormones ( they come all of the way from a pharmaceutical company in Chin a ) to speed up the process of growth and reproduction. That isn't good. Some of you might not mind eating fish injected with dehydrated pee, so if you don't, good for you, but just consider the rest of the reasons to NOT eat it..6. You get what you pay for - and then some. Don't be lured in by insanely cheap price of Pangas. Is it worth risking your health and the health of your family?7. Buying Pangas supports unscrupulous, greedy evil corporations and food conglomerates that don't care about the health and well-being of human beings. They only are concerned about selling as many pangas as possible to unsuspecting consumers. These corporations only care about selling and making more money at whatever cost to the public.8. Pangas will make you sick - If ( for reasons in #1 above ) you don't get immediately ill with vomiting, diarrhea and effects from severe food poisoning, congratulations, you have an iron stomach! But you're still ingesting POISON not poisson.Final important note: Because of the prodigious amount of availability of Pangas, be warned that they will certainly find their way into other foods: surimi ( those pressed fish things, imitation crab sticks ), fish sticks, fish terrines, and probably in some pet foods. ( Warn your dogs and cats and hamsters and gerbils and even your pet fish! ) So, when you do your next round of shopping of frozen fish,or eating out at cafes / food stalls by choosing fish-&-chips, think twice !!You have been warned !!! http://worldofpangasius.com/?open=new&id=28

Wow! Amazing yesterday was Independent eve! We Ignite youth went to Muka Head. It was so wonderful and awesome experience activities .The place and scenery was extremely attractive and great. Not only great but also attracts the tourisms. I had fun with Ignite youth members. During the hiking some of the girls were yelling and shouting for help. Because some part of the mountain was slippery another reason was a few girls yelling because they anxious of monkeys. Thank god that those monkeys scared kon way and those monkey ran of.However, I though that I could not managed to go because my exam still carry on but Praise the Lord that those paper are not very difficult. So I managed to go this muka head-trip. I prayed that this coming Tuesday paper for English 1119 would come out those questions like describe a place that you will never forget. Still, in everything we should give thanks.

In the nutshell, we have a great fellowship there; moreover I enjoy the Praise and worship section, Pastor Wai Fong sharing and a wonderful encouraged testimony from Bro.Wei Koon. Some of us were sat boat back to entrance point and some of them were hiked back. For those who sat boat back have a great experienced of sitting on the boat and those of them who hiked back were enjoyed themselves too. For those who didn’t go this trip don’t miss it the next trip .May God Bless you!!!!! And we know that God causes everything to work for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. Roman 8:28
